In order to make sure that your WebQuest stays aligned with your unit, you will need to copy and paste 3 things from your Stages 1 and 2 from Dr. Grace's wiki onto this page. (This will also help Dr. Theresa give you better feedback on your Intro, Task, and Conclusion.) Then you will write your first drafts of your Introduction and Conclusion.

Understanding(s)

(Copy and paste the big understanding(s) you have listed in your unit for Dr. Grace in Stage 1 (the answers to the essential questions). What are the academic goals for the unit (which will also be the purpose of the WebQuest).)

•risky sexual behaviors affect all dimensions of health.
•prevention of risky behaviors will help lower the risk of chronic and acute disease.
•there are multiple ways in preventing risky behaviors.

Introduction

(Set the stage, give us any background info that we might need to know (but just a hint), this is your HOOK. Provide a segue to the Task . . . make your reader want to click to the next section. There should be nothing that sounds like school work in this section. Don't give away what's going to happen in the Task.)

Good day to all of you Health Educators! Once in a lifetime opportunity has arised for you to participate in creating the final presentation for this years 9th annual Sexuality Conference held in Augusta Maine at the Augusta Civic Center. This is your chance to share what you have learned about risky sexual behaviors, how to prevent them and make healthy life choices! These choices and prevention methods will be taught to other health educators in the Maine area to ensure that they are given information that is useful in the classroom for their students! It is important to be creative, make sure all information is accurate and allow for change. Good luck to each and everyone of you and may the healthiest product win!

Task

(This story should match the Task Description/Summary from your unit in Stage 2 (Through what authentic performance task will students demonstrate understandings?). You can copy and paste from Dr. Grace's wiki. Tell the story of the Role, Audience, Situation, and Product & Performance. Be a story teller. Save any classroom-specific information for the Process. Build the scenario and stay in character. You can reference the Introduction but try not to duplicate the information that's in the Introduction.)

The CEO of Planned Parenthood is looking to promote safe and healthy sexual behaviors. The company has decided to put it into the hands of a local health class by having them compete for a $100 prize for the winning presentation for the upcoming Human Sexuality Conference. As the student you will create a presentation to express the importance of safe and healthy sexual behaviors for teens and young adults ages 14-25. The presentation will be judged based on educational value, accuracy and creativity by the CEO and employees of Planned Parenthood. If chosen your presentation will be used at the 9th Annual Human Sexuality Conference. Good luck and have fun!

Conclusion

(Tie everything the participants have done back to the Goal. Why did they go through all of this? Tie the scenario to the real world. Remind them of the "Big Idea" that they were supposed to gain from this, just in case they didn't make the connection on their own. Don't get preachy. If you ask a question here, it has to be rhetorical. No work or assignments should be included. Short is good.)

Designing this presentation for the Sexuality Conference is greatly appreciated by Planned Parenthood/Family Planner as they are using this as the wrap up for the conference. Explaining and exploring unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases/infections has allowed teens and young adults and their educators to learn and make the connection that this can happen to anyone and that it’s more common than people realize. Congratulations on winning the most creative and accurate Prezi for presentation at the 9th Annual Human Sexuality Conference. I hope that you continue to research and make connections and educate friends, family and peers on unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases/infections for everyone to have healthier life styles.
